rsn-icoA news radio station, "Russkaya Sluzhba Novostei" (Russian News Service, RSN), which has been broadcasting since 2001 in Moscow, began to broadcast in St. Petersburg at a frequency of 92,9 FM. Retransmission of Moscow air program began on June, 1st, and the first own airing took place on July, 11th.

A news radio station, "Russkaya Sluzhba Novostei" (Russian News Service, RSN), which has been broadcasting since 2001 in Moscow, began to broadcast in St. Petersburg at a frequency of 92,9 FM. Retransmission of Moscow air program began on June, 1st, and the first own airing took place on July, 11th.

The radio station belongs to the “Natsionalnaya Media Gruppa” (National Media Group), which also includes such federal TV channels as Channel One, Channel Five, REN TV and the newspaper "Izvestia".

The radio system was equipped "from scratch" on the basis of the broadcast automation system DIGISPOT II®. The complex consists of:

  • the air studio. The broadcasting is based on the digital technology by Axia; there is a set of the iQ Console System: iQ 8-Fader Main Frame and iQ 6-Fader Telco Expansion Frame. The studio is equipped with a single workplace: DJin: Air + R-News;
  • the recording control room (it functions as the cold reserve studio at the same time); there is a console BEHRINGER XENYX UFX1604. The control room has a single workplace: DJin Air + R-News;
  • the newsroom. There are two workplaces for journalists (DJin R-News) and a place for the editor (Scheduler Ultimate);
  • the server room, equipped with the DDB Agent and Audio Logger to communicate with the Moscow office.

The workplaces for journalists are equipped with the in/out blocks Eela EA916.

By means of the workplace of the journalist and the in/output devices the following activities can be carried out:

  • audio data recording into the workstation with a microphone headset Audio-TechnicaBPHS-1;
  • telephone conversations recording in monologue / dialogue modes into the workstation;
  • downloading of the recorded audio files from a removable media (reportage recorders) into the workstation through the USB input;
  • sound editing;
  • search and use of audio and text materials in the database;
  • view and import of audio data from the audio logger;
  • text composition and editing;
  • working with reports containing mixed text and audio information;
  • preparation and planning of several broadcasting schedules.
